Fred Durst is claiming vindication. It's apparent now we just weren't smart enough to pick up on his clever wordplay. When he said that "this war," which, incidentally, hasn't started yet, "should go away as soon as possible," he meant that it should be, well, obsolete...so he used an obsolete term to describe our present state of consensus.
So, thus enlightened, read his comment again...and see how past, present, and future converge in a single sentence...it's poetry.
