In September, 2003 I found myself in my favorite place, Capitol Reef National Park, for all of 24 hours. I had driven up from Vegas the day before, making the 7-hour trip alone through the blue highways from St. George, through Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Staircase, making my way over Boulder Mountain just after sunset. I was inside all the next day, save a free hour over lunch … which I used to drive back up Boulder Mountain so I could shoot the fall colors, including this shot of the Quaking Aspen and evergreens.
