A New Level Of Dislike

Saw this item in my local paper yesterday and thought it brought political discourse to a whole new level:

Gertrude M. Jones didn't want flowers or cards when she died. She wanted to get rid of President Bush.

The 81-year-old woman's obituary asked that memorial donations be given “to any organization that seeks the removal of President Bush from office.”

And people around the country are following her wishes.

Now that's commitment to a cause … any cause, apparently. If she found the money was going to Ralph Nader, would she roll in her grave? Read the story here (and this post is cross-posted here).

I was actually thinking of this topic earlier today (my mind wanders through a lot of stuff during the day...).

I had seen something on this at the popular snopes.com site; it is interesting...

Also - This is the first time that I've been to your site. I noticed from the old Warblogger's Corner blog that you were the originator of that blog - I assume that The Command Post is the website that that blog has turned into. The Command Post is excellent; I have left comments there before. And this website looks very good too - it is well-designed. (I started my blog a little over a year ago, and it has been mostly a good experience...)

Keep up the good work!
